Cornell B.A.B.Y. Lab Videogame

This game is hosted by the Primary Investigator Emma Murrugarra (eam422@cornell.edu) with the B.A.B.Y. Lab at Cornell University.  This game is only intended to be played by participants of a small-scale research study.

If you are downloading for a MacOS, please read these instructions. 

This game is only intended to be played by participants of a small-scale research study. Because the game app will not be registered with the Apple App Store, you may get a warning that will prevent you from opening the file. The warning will look like this:

To open the file anyway, please download the file and then follow these steps:

1. In the Finder, locate the app you want to open (it will be in your Downloads folder by default)
2. Ctrl-Click the app icon, then choose Open from the shortcut menu. (Do not double click the app icon, otherwise the game will not be able to open.)
3. Click Open

While you are playing the game, you may notice a pop-up asking you to access files from the folder where your game is saved. 

Clicking "OK" will grant access to the app file to have full permission to open. This app will not have access to any other file other than the one titled CarWavingGame.app.

 

 

[Temporary instructions for pilot subjects]

1. Thank you so much for all your help!

2. On the first page of the game, it will say "Please wait for the experimenter to continue...". To continue, press "C". (This was meant to lock the game from participants until everything was set up and ready.)

3. If you ever need to exit the game, press the ESC key. Your data is automatically saved.

4. For the page that asks you to fill out two lines, just put whatever numbers you want. It's completely arbitrary. You can put your name if you want to follow up with me on your game scores. 

5. Please please please feel free to try to break the game or find bugs! It's super helpful for me to know where the hidden problems are in my code. Nobody finds bugs in your experiment better than participants. :)
